These terms apply to your use of the SnapScaleCalc website. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. No account is created and nothing is signed; use is the acceptance.

SnapScaleCalc is a free, browser-based set of geometric scaling calculators together with reference and explanatory material. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser; the site provides no account, no storage of your work and no professional service of any kind.

Using the site creates no client, engineering, architectural, surveying or other professional relationship.

The calculators evaluate geometric relationships between the numbers you supply: lengths, ratios, percentages, areas, volumes and bounding-box fit. They are deterministic — the same inputs give the same outputs — and they are documented on the methodology page.

Internal arithmetic is carried out on exact fractions of arbitrary-precision integers, so results follow from your inputs without floating-point drift. That is a statement about the arithmetic, not about the physical world: a geometric result is not a claim that the outcome is achievable, safe, buildable, printable or suitable for your purpose.

You choose the values, the units and the mode. The site cannot detect a mistyped digit, a wrong unit, a mis-measured reference or a drawing that was already resized before you measured it, and an incorrect input produces a precisely computed but wrong answer.

You are responsible for checking every result before acting on it, and for deciding whether a purely geometric calculation is appropriate to your situation at all.

The site does not measure anything. It has no access to your object, drawing, print, screen or space, and it cannot verify a physical dimension. The accuracy of a result is bounded by the accuracy of the measurement you entered.

Displayed values are rounded or truncated for readability while the underlying value is kept exact; where a decimal expansion is cut off, the display marks it. Reading a rounded figure as if it were the full value, or entering a rounded intermediate result into the next step by hand, can change the outcome, and that consequence is yours rather than the site's.

The site publishes a compiled dataset of documented scale conventions with a citation and a check date for each entry. Conventions are compared against your calculated result and reported alongside it; they are not substituted for it.

A close match to a documented convention is a comparison, not certification, and it does not establish that your object, drawing or model conforms to that standard. Standards are revised and practice differs between fields and regions, so the published standard from the issuing body always governs over the summary here. Entries may be incomplete or out of date; corrections are welcome.

Nothing on this site is engineering, architectural, construction, surveying, navigation, manufacturing, safety, regulatory, financial or legal advice. For work where an error has consequences — structural or load-bearing decisions, life-safety systems, regulatory submissions, navigation, or manufacturing at cost — rely on the governing drawings, specifications and standards and, where appropriate, a qualified professional. See the disclaimer for the specific limits of each calculator.

You may use the calculators for personal, educational, professional and commercial work at no cost, and you may quote short extracts with attribution and link to any page here. You may reproduce your own results freely — a number you computed from your own measurements is yours.

Reasonable ordinary use includes normal browsing and automated indexing by search engines that respect robots.txt.

• Republishing, mirroring or redistributing the site's explanatory text, page structure or compiled reference dataset as a substitute or competing service.
• Presenting results from this site as certified, verified, approved or professionally checked, or implying that SnapScaleCalc endorses or has reviewed your work.
• Attempting to interfere with, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure, or circumventing technical restrictions.
• Removing or obscuring attribution, source citations or the limitations stated on a page.
• Using the site in a way that is unlawful, or that infringes the rights of others.

Bulk or automated extraction of the site's content or reference dataset — crawling beyond normal indexing, scripted harvesting, or systematic copying into another product, dataset or training corpus — is not permitted without written permission, which you may request by email. Access may be rate-limited or blocked where automated traffic degrades the service for others.

The site's source code, interface design, visual language and original explanatory writing — the methodology, learn articles, calculator narration and the selection, arrangement and annotation of the reference dataset — are protected by copyright and remain the property of the site's operator or their respective rights holders.

No ownership is claimed over mathematics or facts. Ratios, scale factors, percentage conversions, unit definitions and the square and cube relationships between length, area and volume are mathematical relationships and public knowledge, free for anyone to use. Nor is ownership claimed over the factual content of published standards or the numeric scale conventions themselves.

Standards, specifications and publications cited here remain the property of the organisations that publish them, and only identifying details, the relevant factual values and a link are reproduced. Product names, standard designations, organisation names and trademarks are used for identification and reference only; their appearance implies no affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from their owners in either direction.

The site links to standards bodies, mapping agencies and other third-party sources so that reference data can be verified. Those sites are not under the operator's control, and no responsibility is accepted for their content, accuracy, availability or practices. A link is provided for verification, not as an endorsement.

The site is provided free of charge and without any commitment to availability, continuity or a support response time. Calculators, content, the reference dataset and these terms may be changed, corrected, moved or withdrawn at any time, and pages may be unavailable during maintenance or infrastructure faults.

To the extent permitted by law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and uninterrupted availability. While the calculation engine is built on exact arithmetic and covered by automated tests, no warranty is given that every result is correct for every use, that the reference conventions are current or complete, or that the site is free of errors or defects.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of SnapScaleCalc is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site — including wasted material, scrapped parts, failed prints, reprinting, rework, delay, lost time, lost profit, cost overruns, or indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for gross negligence, or for intentional or fraudulent conduct.

If you use the site as a consumer, you keep every right given to you by the mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence. Nothing in these terms — including the warranty disclaimer, the liability limitation and the governing law clause — removes, reduces or overrides those rights, and where a provision here conflicts with a mandatory protection that applies to you, the mandatory protection prevails.

These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes may be brought before the Norwegian courts. This choice does not deprive a consumer of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings there where applicable law gives them that right. Before any dispute, please write to snapscalecalc@proton.me — most issues are corrections.

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, it is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions stay in force. Together with the privacy policy and the disclaimer, these terms are the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding use of the site, and they replace any earlier version.
